The Australian National Centre for Latin American Studies (ANCLAS) is proud to announce the launch of the book Pura Vida, a collection of essays, narrative and illustrations that provides a comprehensive view on the development of Costa Rica in its 200 years as a sovereign nation; its unique story as a demilitarised democracy, dedicated to the protection of its biodiversity and the wellbeing of its inhabitants presented by 23 Australian and 9 Costa Rican authors.
The book will be launched by Professor Bronwyn Parry, Dean of the College of Arts and Social Sciences at the Australian National University on Monday 17 April, 2023 at Menzies Library, from 2.30 to 4.30 pm.
This is a project of the Embassy of Costa Rica in Canberra, sponsored by the Australian National Centre for Latin American Studies (ANCLAS) and Costa Rica's State Distance University Press (EUNED).
